Progressive, hard, melodic Great news for all progressive metal fans: Dream Theater is coming out of the studio with a new album in 2019. "Distance Over Time" is the fourteenth album from the New York band, the follow-up to 2016's "The Astonishing". James LaBrie, John Petrucci, John Myung, Jordan Rudess and Mike Mangini recorded a total of nine new songs for it, which have a combined length of around 57 minutes. Dream Theater recorded "Distance Over Time" over four months at the remote Yonderbarn studios in Monticello, NY. For the first time in the band's history, they worked together on an album from start to finish in the same location. As usual, Petrucci took care of the production. Mixing was done by Ben Grosse, mastering by Tom Baker. Untethered Angel" was the first preview of the new album. And it shows: in 2019, Dream Theater returns to its roots. Dream Theater egy amerikai progresszív metal zenekar, amelyet 1985-ben Majesty néven alapított John Petrucci, John Myung és Mike Portnoy, miközben a Berklee College of Music-ra jártak Bostonban, Massachusettsben. Hamarosan nevet változtattak Dream Theater, ami azóta a komplex, dallamos és technikailag igényes zene szinonimájává vált.
