The book A Decade of the Mad Axeman - The Studio Recordings plus The Live Recordings takes a detailed look at the ten years from 2007 to 2016, during which Michael Schenker was once again bursting with musical creativity and composed many great songs. Although he also collaborated with other musicians during this period, all the tracks sound 100% Michael Schenker. In 2007, Michael returns like a phoenix from the ashes and returns to his musical roots on MSG's new album In The Midst Of Beauty. Featuring Gary Barden as lead vocalist, with whom Schenker wrote all twelve songs on the album, former Whitesnake bassist Neil Murray, Toto drummer Simon Phillips and Deep Purple keyboardist Don Airey, the line-up revives the spirit of the Michael Schenker Group's 1980 debut album. An artistically restless man who is constantly redefining himself and his music, Michael Schenker assembled a new formation in 2011, supported by various guest musicians. Full of creative power, dynamism and ideas, Michael Schenker enters a new phase of his life with Temple Of Rock. He describes it as a new stage of existence in which he enjoys life more than ever and in which he reaps the joy of his development so far. He has released three studio albums and two live productions under the Temple Of Rock banner. Michael Schenker has managed to recruit two former Scorpions bandmates from the Lovedrive era for his new formation: Francis Buchholz on bass and Herman Rarebell on drums. He managed to get former Rainbow frontman Doogie White on vocals, and Wayne Findlay backed the band on keyboards. Michael Schenker surprises in 2016 with a very special live release recorded in Tokyo. For this, the exceptional German guitarist managed to get former MSG vocalists Robin McAuley, Graham Bonnet and Gary Barden to perform together. Also on board are former bandmates Chris Glen, Steve Mann and Ted McKenna. What Michael Schenker does on stage in this constellation can definitely be described as a treat for fans.
