The Hyde Race is our answer to the increasing demands of progressive urban biking. An important indication for this is the gloriously smooth and silent running Gates Carbondrivebelt, which turns oil-stained trousers into a thing of the past once and for all. But the Race in its name isn't there by accident - we've been very weight conscious when choosing the components of the Hyde Race. Drivetrain duties are handled by the premium Shimano Alfine 8-speed gear hub. FRAME Along with the high-quality double butted aluminium tubes we included a number of innovative features to this frame to make it particularly stiff and responsive. The sliding dropouts allow belt tension to be set accurately and with little effort by screws on each side and can be opened for belt replacement. All cables run inside the down tube away from the elements, enhancing the clean and dynamic appearance of the frame and improving long-term shifting performance. Upgrading the frame with fenders, a rear carrier, a kickstand and a frame lock is very simple, thanks to the included hardware. COMPONENTS A core feature of the Hyde Race is the unbelievably silent and maintenance-free Gates belt. No more chain lubrication or oil-stained trousers! The carbon-fibre reinforced Gates Mudport belt needs just occasional cleaning with water, that's it. In combination with the Shimano Alfine-8-speed gear hub this is one of the most low maintenance drive train systems there is. Add the Shimano BR-M355 hydraulic brake system and you have a complete all-weather package with perfect shifting and braking performance.
